Forbes, Stanhope Alexander

Nationality:  Irish; British

Brief Bio:  1857-1947, artist, Irish; British

Notes:  1880 - moved to Paris to become a pupil of Léon Bonnat and shared a studio with Arthur Hacker.
1881-1883 - worked in Brittany in various coastal towns.
1884 - returned to England and settled in Newlyn where he became part of the Newlyn School.
1899 - established an art school at Newlyn.
1910 - elected a Royal Academician.
