Description: Poster, British Railways, Giants Refreshed "Pacifics in the LNER Locomotive Works Doncaster" by Terence Cuneo, about 1948. Coloured lithograph depicting two 4-6-2 Pacific locomotives being painted in the works, the A4 class 'Sir Ronald Matthews' and the A2/3 class 'Owen Tudor'. This is a slightly modified version of the original poster produced by the London & North Eastern Railway in 1947, with a revised inscription to reflect that the locomotives and works were owned and operated by the nationalised British Railways. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd., London & Dunstable. |
